Awful, If you've ever read a John Sanford book you'll know right off that he did not write this. Looks like he taken a page from James Patterson and using his name in order to sell more books. I find this reprehensible. How so many peeps five starred this is beyond me. I've read all his Prey books and never been disappointed, this one however, I couldn't even finish, unbelievable he would put his name on such trash.

In comparison to other Sandford novels, I found this one sub par. I have enjoyed about a dozen Sandford books so far. This was the least interesting. Virgil and Ma are great characters, the rest are far less so. The story just didn't hit it with me. If this had been the very first Sandford book I had read, it would have been my last.

My mom was a flight attendant before she passed and she had found "Winter Prey" on a passengers seat and brought it home to me. Once I read that book, I couldn't get enough of John Sandford and his Prey novels. I do have some of the other novels because I am a John Sandford fan period and do collect his books. I was formerly into Steven King prior to reading that first prey novel. I love John Sandfords books and their the only ones that seem to keep me reading. A highly recommended author in my book!
