 The book contains lecture notes of 4 different courses: Mathematical Physics, Classical Mechanics, Classical Electrodynamics, and Solid State Physics. That on Mathematical Physics covers vector analysis, Fourier transform, Dirac delta, Gamma, Beta functions, Laplace transform, special functions and complex analysis. There is an appendix containing thorough and complete calculations leading to expressions for gradient, divergence, Laplacian and curl in spherical polar and cylindrical coordinate systems. That on Classical Mechanics has completely elucidated Lagrangian and Hamiltonian formulations of Newtonian Mechanics. Simple pendulum or simple harmonic oscillator has been used to illustrate methods of calculation wherever applicable. There is an appendix containing thorough and complete calculations leading to expressions for Lagrangian and Hamiltonian function of a charged particle in an electric and a magnetic field. That on Classical Electrodynamics covers electrostatics and magnetostatics before taking up electrodynamics. That on Solid State Physics covers 6 chapters, namely, behavior of electron in solid, dielectrics, magnetism, superconductivity, optical properties of solids, semiconductor. The book can be used as Lecture Notes without any modification at all. Undergraduate students will benefit from getting a book that can be used as a study guide. About the author

 Sujaul Chowdhury (s.chowdhury-phy@sust.edu) is a Professor, Department of Physics, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) www.sust.edu, Sylhet 3114, Bangladesh. He obtained B,Sc, Honours in Physics in 1994, M,Sc, in Physics in 1996 from SUST. He obtained PhD in Physics from the University of Glasgow, UK in 2001. He was a Humboldt Research Fellow for one year a t the Max Planck Institute, Stuttgart, Germany. He has authored two textbooks: a) Quantum Mechanics, b) Nanostructure Physics and Microelectronics published by Narosa, Delhi, India, co-published and distributed by Alpha Science International Limited, Oxford, UK.
