Ratings and reviews

I don't know when it became acceptable to write hard cliff hangers again, but this is firmly 1/3 of a book (also known as book 2 in a trilogy). Fortunately it saves itself by being an outstanding novel, better even than the first. From the writing, to the characters, to the plot and pacing, this book does an excellent job all around. If it weren't a cliff hanger it would be 5 star. I cannot wait for book 3.
