 The Brahmin community of Kingdom Ang, left it when insulted by the King Romapada. This resulted in drought and famine. Lord Indra instructed the king that it would be alleviated only if Rishyasringa is brought to the kingdom and persued to carry out necessary ceremonies. The King sent many of his courtesans and brought Rishyasringa to his kingdom. Rishyasringa, in turn used his powers whereas the kingdom received bountiful of rains. The king offered his daughter’s, Shanta’s hand to the Rishi in marriage (Shanta was actually King Dasharatha’s daughter). Rishyasring stayed with her in the kingdom of Ang till a son was born to them. Later, he returned back to his Ashram with his wife.
