The first 3 books were great, but the 4th was abysmal and really brought my review down. The main character switch was unwelcome and he was so unlikeable it was hard to finish. A disappointing end

Hard to put down, but unsure of where it's headed now that I've started The Shade of the Moon. I have my hopes up. EDIT: As a whole, I enjoyed these books. There are many questions though, lots of stuff missing I feel like. If this is the end of the series, I feel a bit cheated. It ends pretty abruptly but I do read books that are much worse.

I read the first book many years ago. It had such an inpact that I gave it to my adult daughter. It gave her nightmares. I have read it about three times and realize that the author may have written more. I was pleased to see the entire collection and devoured them all. The stories are a good reminder of survival, kindness, human nature and so much more. I wish there were more to come.
