This short-and-sweet romance is laugh-out-loud funny. Lucy is a hoot. She and Jake are adorable together. I love how he teaches her to let go of expectations and live in the moment. Sometimes looking for just a reliable date sounds like smoothe-sailing when you’re tired of being hurt. But we all need a little spice to bring it up to perfection. In desperation to find the right someone, Lucy Remington agrees to a blind date and to creating a home-cooked meal preferred by reliable, safe, secure “Tom the accountant”. The problem is that she knows nothing about cooking and almost burns down her apartment! It wasn’t a bad thing, really, because the fire let her meet Jake Bryant, and although he is not really that quiet, secure, safe guy she was looking for, he is definitely memorable! And when he offers to give her cooking lessons for her “hot” date, well . . . You cannot miss with this author’s books. Hilarious is too tame a word to describe the situations and interactions the author always brings to her stories. This is delightful, fun reading and you should definitely not miss it! There is so much more to entertain you in this book!

Great Read! This was an easy read and flowed along so nicely that I was done the book before I knew it. Very solid but yummy main male character. The main female character was quite whimsical. She tries, and her intentions are good but somehow things always seem to go awry for her. Her verbiage is unbelievable; her thought processes the same. Her quirky character was most times, a delight to read. I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this novel via Booksprout and I am leaving an honest and unbiased review.
