About this ebook

When English troops threaten Lady Christiane MacGillean's beloved castle, she has no choice but to set it ablaze--and with it, the ancient treasure hidden there. Escaping into the Highland hills, she is quickly captured, taken south and caged by the English king. Outraged by the lady's treatment, Sir Gavin Faulkener bargains for her life--and suddenly finds himself not only guardian of her castle, but wedded to her as well.

As they rebuild the ruined tower together, Christiane begins to trust the knight, who cannot deny his deepening passion for her--but he is honor-bound to the king, and the lady remains very much a rebel...

On the wings of the Angel, the doves do rest. What is a lady to do when she is facing death from different methods? This is what faces Christian MacGillan a widow and now declared a traitor by King Edward of England. Oh how sad this story started the burning of the castle and given up of her daughter Michaelmas. This was a very powerful story and very well written. The author did a wonderful job of showing the horrible history between the Scots and English. Parts of this book were hard to read and so cruel to think about what had occurred. The characters were splendid Gavin and Cristian's story was touching it balances out horrible parts. I loved at the end when the golden casket was given to the king there is a touch of magic there. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
