Viv is a marriage celebrant. Her marriage is in tatters. She has 10 weddings (and a funeral) to do before she can quit. Can't be that hard, can it? I know Susan Murphy personally. However, this review is submitted as a bookworm who reads for enjoyment and escapism. This book delivers on both counts. Susan Murphy crafts a fast paced, witty romp through the peaks and troughs of emotion as Viv launches headlong into unknown waters. Her characterisations of Viv and the others swept up in her wake may seem over-the-top, but I know people who fit those profiles. "There's one in every bunch" comes to mind. I laughed, cringed, cheered, guffawed and cried as I journeyed with Viv and her crazy cohorts. But it's not all laughs. Viv and her sisters deal with tragedy with the love of family and friends. Non-stop action carries the reader from one hilarious disaster to the next, making it a page turner and hard to put down. The story has twists and turns, and the ending leaves you wanting to know what happens next. Can't wait for the sequel. Well done on your first novel.
