About this ebook

A lonely barista’s dreams come true when her celebrity crush asks her to pose as his fake girlfriend for the paparazzi.

Boone Sheridan is a TV heartthrob with a public relations problem. He needs to clean up his image and create a distraction ASAP. What better way to do that than pretending he’s settled down with a nice, wholesome, ordinary girlfriend?

Eve Tracey is as ordinary as they come—a pre-school teacher and part-time barista working two jobs to make ends meet. She also happens to be a recovering Boone Sheridan superfan. So when the object of her former obsession walks into her coffee shop and makes her an unbelievable offer, how can she refuse?

Acting like she’s in love with Boone Sheridan is no problem for Eve. But she’s read enough fake dating fanfics to know that being on the receiving end of Boone’s pretend affection is almost certainly a recipe for heartbreak—and she’s too realistic to believe the fantasy will extend any further than that.

There’s nothing for a starstruck fangirl to do but brace herself for the pain of letting Boone go at the end of their temporary arrangement.

Loved getting back into this series with Boone and Eve's story. They had a sweet story and it was a great addition to the series. The only reason I gave a 4 star vs 5 star was because there were a couple points in the story that could have been developed further. I felt like the conflict resolution in a couple areas were rushed. I still enjoyed reading and still recommend.

I’m still “squee”-ing over this pair like the giddy fangirl they made me into. Boone and Eve are completely, utterly, and ridiculously adorable together. It’s not all sunshine and roses in their world, but I really appreciated that the author kept their drama personal and didn’t bring in all the outside ‘noise’ we usually get when a leading character is a celebrity. I also applaud the author for showing that it doesn’t matter whether the victim is male or female, and it isn’t limited to romantic relationships. Abusers have many faces and forms, and they’re all toxic. (Stepping down from my soapbox now.) I loved that this book showed us Boone and Eve working to make their relationship possible. That, no matter what else they had to do as individuals or a couple, their relationship took a commitment from both of them to make it thrive. And it took both of them handling the mental and emotional baggage that comes with having been in any kind of a relationship before. I adored that we got to spend so much time with Griffin and Alice during this book, and I hope that this isn’t the last time we get to hang out with any of these characters. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

ANOTHER success, By Susannah Nix! Lucky Star is a gem like Halley's Comet <3 I love romance and comedy so I have been an avid ARC reader and supporter of ALL of Susannah Nix's works. I'm so happy that in Lucky Star, Boone and Eve have their own story and sexy romance. I enjoyed the fake couple/relationship plot because WE ALL know that we want to root for them to make it real and that the relationship is an excuse to show their true feelings for one another. I mean a kiss is NEVER really just a kiss, am I right? I'm a romantic so it means SO MUCH MORE and I definitely related to the main character Eve. I am completely obsessed with happy endings/HEAs, witty dialogue, cute heart feelings, and kind gestures/scenes and the author NEVER disappoints. The book went from mild to hot and spicy and then to full-on MUY CALIENTE! Boone and Eve are as perfect a match as Cinderella's foot and missing glass slipper and their personalities balance each other out like Elizabeth Bennett and Mark Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. It is still a cute and thoughtfully written romcom without being too raunchy. The book also has COFFEE and a MOVIE STAR (LOL) so what more could a girl/reader ask for? This is a must-read as well as Susannah Nix's other series, The Chemistry Lessons and The King Family books. Keep writing and I'll keep reading. :D
