Honestly, I think I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't seen the movie first. The idea is very good, but the execution lacks primarily because of the first person narrative. However likeable Katniss is, staying with her story line limits the dramatic potential, particularly during the third act. This I'd a problem the movie doesn't have. All this said still a good read for teens.

This had to be one of the biggest anticipated reads for me so far. I had actually seen the movie before reading the book and enjoyed the movie a lot. I have also seen Catching Fire and havenโ€™t read that book yet, but it was great too, so I canโ€™t wait to read that soon. Everybody has been telling me how fabulous and awesome The Hunger Games is and how different AND I totally agree with that. It was amazing and so very different from anything else I have ever read. The movie for me wasnโ€™t too far off from the book, but they could have put a little more of the intimate scenes into the movie that are in the book.

Brilliant writing, written by an amazing writer. When my best friend Violet mentioned the newest seres to me and begged me to read it, I couldn't say no because she knows what kinds of books I'm into and I am so glad that I took the time for this stunner. You can't help but get sucked in from reading the first line. I was really impressed, it's well worth reading again :)
