The Hunger Games takes place in an unidentified future time period after the destruction of North America, in a nation known as Panem. Panem consists of a rich Capitol and twelve surrounding, poorer districts. As punishment for a previous rebellion against the Capitol, every year one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 from each district are forced to participate in The Hunger Games, a televised event where the participants, or 'tributes', must fight to the death in a large outdoor arena until only one remains. The story follows fatherless 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, a girl from District 12 who volunteers for the Games in place of her younger sister, Prim.

nearly halfway through the first book and is amazing :) it has a beautiful storyline about 12 districts that fight to the death in a battle against one another last one standing wins.the main district, district 12s tributes (people who go to the hunger games) katniss everdeen and peeta mellark are the main focus but there are other characters like katniss's sister Prim, Rue (who also goes to the hunger games and is 12 :0) effie trinket, haymitch, gale,cato and many more. i would reccomend this book to anyone probably over 10 because it is a bit violent but it is AMAZING

I was quite upset with this purchase. Although the book was fantastic I noticed that the end of some chapters were missing from this ebook. It would cut off midsentence and when I turned the page the next chapter just begun. Really quite frustrating. I found it only works if I read it from the original pages. Not happy.

Book 1: excellent. Book 2: great. Book 3: I struggled to enjoy the political dialogue and ended up taking two weeks to finish rather than two days with the predecessors. It did improve though.
