Henry Hammond and Lindsay Miller are in Northstar for a wedding, but neither of them feels like celebrating. Lindsay has sworn off men until her son is old enough not to be hurt by them, but she’s drawn to Henry, a man devastated after learning that his son isn’t his.
Henry is in no mood to entertain ideas about starting a new relationship, but when Lindsay boldly introduces herself, he’s intrigued. She’s strong and fiercely independent but also vulnerable and burned-out from dating the wrong men. Factor in an immediate physical pull, and they’re in trouble. Past mistakes warn them to keep their distance, but an offer of a one-night stand turns into a week-long adventure that soothes both their hearts.
They may have a shot at the kind of love that lasts a lifetime, but first they’ll have to learn to trust again, and trust isn’t something that comes easily to either of them.
