About the author

 Svein Gusrud is an academic and independent furniture designer. His designs have been awarded prizes such as the prestigious Norwegian Jacobprisen and five awards for Design Excellence. He won the competition for the chair for the Norwegian Pavilion at Seville Expo '92. His furniture designs are in the permanent collections of all the Museums of Applied Arts in Norway as well as the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo.
