In the 40-years since its debut, Swamp Thing has been graced with some of the best writers in comics from Len Wein to Alan Moore and now, as part of the DC Comics-The New 52, 'American Vampire' scribe Scott Snyder brings his talents to an all new Swamp Thing series set in the DC Universe. Following the events of 'Brightest Day,' Alec Holland has his life back...but the "Green" has plans for it. A monstrous evil is rising in the desert, and it'll take a monster of another kind to defend life as we know it! This hardcover collection includes issues 1-7 of the monthly series.

I didn't really care about or knew much about Swamp Thing but after reading this series I freaking loved the character. I loved the concept of the Green and the Rot. The creatures from the Rot are scary but drawn beautifully. It takes a bit for Alec Holland to become the Swamp Thing but once he does you will not be unsatisfied and realize that it was worth the wait. One of the best comics I have read in a while

I forgot why he was my favorite comic book hero. I've been out of the loop for the longest, but reading this is drawing me back in. Looking forward to theaters one day making this a movie.

The artwork mixed with the well told story makes Swamp Thing a horrific, mind-blowing and amazing take about a man and his misunderstood monster inside and his war against an enemy that's an opposite on all fronts!
