This book presents a spiritual and moral exposition of the concept of Swaraj as interpreted by great Indian thinkers like M. K. Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Sri Aurobindo, Raja Rammohun Roy, Rabindranath Tagore and Swami Vivekananda.

Dr. Amulya Ranjan Mohapatra became Reader in Philosophy in DAV College, Koraput (Orissa) and thereafter vice-principal in BJB(M) College, Bhubaneswar, DAV College, Koraput and also Principal in DAV Junior College, Koraput. He was awarded UGC Teacher Fellowship and various research projects by the VGC; ICSSR; ASRC; and completed these research works successfully. Dr. Mohapatra has written a number of books in English and Oriya and published a number of research papers in different journals. He has earned reputation as a writer, editor, lyricist, orator, social worker and became a recipient of many certificates, medals and honorary titles. He is associated with various cultural, educational and spiritual organizations. Some of his published books are: Philosophy of Religion; The Idea of Inexpressible: A philosophical Analysis, Hinduism: Analytical Study: Value System; India's Freedom Fighter: Bir Surendra Sai.
