I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Rachel and Riley. Rachel runs her family's B&B with her sister. Hailey convinces Rachel to go to the pier with her to pick up her Navy Seal husband Nate and his buddy Riley. Riley can't believe his luck when Rachel picks him up and hugs him. He's had a thing for her but afraid to take the leap. Spending time together is something neither expected to do it continue after that first weekend. But feeling start to develop. Great HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Rachel is with her sister Hailey when she meets her husband Nathan at the dock when he returns from his SEAL mission, along with Riley, a team member and best friend. Rachel and Riley have a relationship that skyrockets, but she is so scared of messing up that she usually backs out of them, until Riley. The characters were terrific, with great backstories and intense feelings and emotions. The storyline has several plotlines that tie together. An old one where she finds sentimental letters from ancestors that Rachel and Riley read on B & B trips. A touching one regarding the dog he grew to love while in the service and the chance to bring him home to Riley. The best is the relationship, and how they come to terms with a forever they both really want. Surprises, twists and great banter when they are joking, keep the pages turning. Loved the B & Bs and how she updated them and the ideas they all came up with. The ending is perfect and I plan to reread it again soon. Riley and Rachel's Story . . . Rachel Sutherland isn’t looking for a relationship with Riley Wilkes. She considers him a sort of playboy. However, the bad-boy Navy SEAL will be lonely having been at sea for a long time, so when he returns home, Rachel decides to greet him at the pier and kisses him as he disembarks, just so he can see a smiling face when he gets home. Uh, okay. Riley is reformed now and passionately wants her when he sees her, even before the kiss. He had liked her in the past, but she never gave him a reason to act on it. But the kiss at the pier had him ready to make his move. She’s okay with a weekend of fun but doesn’t want anything more after that. Can he change her mind? Can he make her see that he wants forever? This story line was a bit odd. It didn’t feel like a comfortable romance, and the strange reasoning behind their getting together was not romantic either. But maybe if she gives him more than a weekend they can get something special going that just might last.
