The Faces of Domestic Violence is a work which follows the progression of a βromanticβ relationship to its tragic end. The piece, written in a combination of haiku and poetic rhyme, conveys the inner musing of the characters as they become deeper and deeper entwined in one anotherβs lives. As the relationship progresses, signs and warning signals of violence are ignored and/or justified. Voices of family members and those who are impacted by the couple are heard throughout the piece. As a dramatic reading, the voices can be read by multiple readers, an indication that these characters can represent anyone.
