About this eBook

One luxury building holds six penthouse apartments owned by kinky Manhattanites. Their sizzling stories will be told throughout the Penthouse Pleasures series from New York Times bestselling authors Opal Carew, Jayne Rylon, and Avery Aster.

From trailer trash to elite New York City lawyer, Casey Clark has transformed her life. There’s only one change she regrets. The one that left her blazing her trail alone.

Her tough ex-boyfriend Jace West has made a career of protecting people in bad situations, just like he always did for her. When Casey finds something in her new penthouse apartment that could put her in danger, he’s the first one to volunteer to keep her body safe—even if it puts their hearts at risk again.

Jace counts on his partner Ian to chaperone his alone time with Casey. Instead, it seems the guy balances out Jace’s rough edges with a suave sophistication Casey always craved. The combination has the potential to fill the void in her life that money, power, and ambition can’t…if she’s bold enough to take what she wants from each of them.

Venturing into taboo territory, Casey could become the woman Jace has always needed. The kind who’s enough for not just one super sexy man, but two of them.

**Received ARC for a fair and honest review** Taboo is the first book in the Penthouse Pleasures series. This is a fun, hot and steamy, fast read. Rate this book at 4 stars. Casey and Jace have a previous history with one another. When Casey found out that Jace lied to her, she threw in the towel and left to pursue her dreams. From living in poverty with an alcoholic for a mother to becoming a successful attorney moving into an exclusive penthouse, Casey's really turned her life around, but she's never forgotten her high school sweetheart Jace. Now established in her new life when she moves into her penthouse she finds things the previous occupant left behind and now she's in danger. Jace let Casey move on because he didn't trust himself completely with her, now a police detective when he finds out Casey is in trouble, he and his partner Ian come running to the rescue. There is a lot of chemistry between the characters, and things heat up from the get go. I really enjoyed this story, but the way they Jace and Casey jumped back into their relationship after 10 years just seemed a little unrealistic, and bringing a third into the mix also seemed unrealistic. The only other criticism I can think of is the the ending just kind of stopped and I think it needed a little more story with them, not they get together, and bam book over, these are the reasons I gave it a 4. It was a good book, I blazed through it, it was very enjoyable... and I definitely am looking forward to the next book. Happy Reading!

***4 ‘Good Cop/Bad Cop’ Stars*** This was a fun, steamy read with a little mystery/suspense tossed in and a lot of heart all packed into one very well written novella. Within the first moments of Casey, Jace and Ian colliding I wanted them to find a way to have a future together. Even though things move quickly, there was a sense of balance and rightness ~ and all kinds of smexy as hell sparks ~ between them, even with Casey and Jace’s issues stirring the pot a little, which actually brought them together a lot faster than had the never existed. I ended up falling in love with Ian (I’m thinking I need an Ian in my life), but loved Casey and Jace as well. I’m quite picky when it comes to menage romances and while this one doesn’t fulfill everything I like to happen, I find that it doesn’t bother me here because the emotional connect rans quite deep so it worked for me in the end. The writing was engaging and was quite seamless, considering that three authors were dipping their proverbial pens into the pot and I liked how the little mystery/suspense issue was dealt with. If you’re looking for a quick, low on drama and angst and high on smexy and heart read, then pick up this little novella. You won’t be sorry! ~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~

4 Star Review Taboo (Penthouse Pleasures Book 1) by Jayne Rylon, Opal Carew and Avery Aster The first in a new series and although Jayne Rylon was the only author I had read previously I was interested to read this book. A quick fun read set amidst the bright lights of Manhattan revolving around the lives of six penthouse apartment owners. This story resolves around lawyer Casey Clark and is a second chance at love story with a twist. The one who got away her ex-boyfriend Jace West, a detective. Jace returns to her life when Casey discovers something in her new penthouse that puts her in potential danger, she knows she has no choice but to call the police. Of course as soon as Jace hears the report, he immediately heads to the penthouse with his partner Ian. The sparks are still there between Casey and Jace however Casey is also attracted to Ian. Do they take a chance and re-kindle their relationship, adding in Ian? Could this be what they have all been missing? You'll have to read Taboo to find out. Although I did feel that the book was a little rushed, the secondary characters of the apartment manager and the ex-priest were great and I look forward to reading more in the series.
