After a series of brutal killings befalls the forest of Averon, Cyrius, the forests protector, warns that a huge beast from the Great Vast Open has invaded their homeland. With no animal in Averon strong enough to oppose the creature, their only hope of survival lies with Stryder, a strange owl whose knowledge will be their only chance at opposing the beast.
