About this ebook

She’s no lady…

Rebecca White makes her own way. She’ll dress as a man to support her mother if she chooses, she’ll participate in illegal gaming if it pleases her, and she’ll even cheat a lord now and then if the idea catches her fancy. But what she didn’t count on was an entire family of White’s tracking her down and being just as stubborn and independent as—well—herself. Nor did she bet on their handsome lawyer, Jacob Veritas, stirring feelings that have no place in her life.

He’s the perfect gentleman…

Which is why he can’t understand his instant attraction to the delicate beauty, Rebecca White. Yes, she is strong, capable, smart as hell, and exciting beyond measure. But he’s a man who lives by the law and Rebecca, she’s never met a rule she didn’t wish to break.

But as her world begins to crumble about her, Jacob can’t help himself, he has to rescue her. The law is a pillar after all and if it can hold up society, surely it can aid one woman in need?

But his heart, there might be no saving that.

His White Wager is a spectacular historical romance by Tammy Andresen. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Ms. Andresen has provided readers with a well-written book populated with lovable characters. Rebecca disguises herself as a boy to work at an underground fight club because she wants to help her parents and open her own book-keeping business. Jacob is a barrister looking for the illegitimate child of the Duke of Whitehaven financed by the new Duke of Whitehaven to find his missing sibling. Jacob and Rebecca's story is packed with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I loved this book from cover to cover and look forward to my next book by Tammy Andresen. His White Wager is book 6 of the Dark Duke's Legacy Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The identity of the long-lost White sibling was a complete surprise. She has had to fend for herself her whole life. When the barrister Jacob was given the job to find the lost sibling, he thought he was looking for a man. But found out different. From the moment he met Rebecca there was a connection. She also felt it. She was living a dual life. During the day she helped her mother and stepfather. During the night her job required being around criminals of all types. A danger for sure. When Jacob appeared in her life things got really dangerous for her and her parents. Luckily Sayden and Justice arrived in the nick of time as the criminals were closing in on Rebecca. A very good story. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. Reasons I enjoyed this book: Easy-to-read Entertaining Happily Ever After Steamy
