No story has grabbed me as completely as this one. I will say that it certainly isn't for everyone - you have to be able to put up with an annoying protagonist, which is a tall order when most of what you see is heavily colored through his perceptions. But if you can understand that the protagonist is cringy by design, and are able to stick with the story, you'll find a rich world full of fleshed-out characters with their own views and goals, and a story of personal growth unlike any I know.

This is one of the most interesting and entertaining stories I've ever read. The way Subaru's power is used is fantastic. Even though the world that Subaru is thrown into may be a very cliché one, Subaru himself is a completely different type of character than we've ever seen. The addition of a completely new type of character into the usual fantasy world type setting makes this unique in its own way. I've watched the anime as well and though it may have poorly portrayed characters such as Emilia in comparison to the light novels, it was still extremely entertaining. I hope that Nagatsuki-sensei's dream comes true of getting a full anime adaptation of this wonderful story. If you're looking for a recommendation, then you are definitely getting one from me.

A very enticing book. It doesn't keep you on your toes, rather it keeps you on all your senses. Somehow, the novel transports the reader into the world the protagonist in the book was transported to. Leading to a adventure for both the reader and the protagonist to go on. With as much to stick around and read the entire thing, as exploring an entire world on your own would. Definitely recommended !
