About this ebook

Ten years ago, Dylan McCormick and Maggie Jennings were two eighteen-year-olds in love.

With a cold father and absent mother at home, he was drawn to her warmth, her humor, and her kindness. She was the best thing that had ever happened to him. But then he had to let her go so she could have a chance at a better life. One that didn’t involve late-night diners and rusted out cars and counting pennies. And so, he shattered his own heart to give her a chance at something more.

Maggie thought Dylan would be her future, not her past. But for ten years now, that’s where he’s been—until he gets traded to the Dallas Longhorns, the pro baseball team Maggie works for. And she can see firsthand that the boy she once loved is now a man, but with the same passion for the game, the same athleticism and tenderness that drew her to him. But a decade ago, he chose baseball over her. What if he breaks her heart again?

Dylan wants a second chance with the woman he never stopped loving. And this time, he’s going to fight for her.

I would call this a first love never dies/reunion/second chance romance. I am normally not a fan of sports-themed romances because, even though I do watch sports and can follow any sport fairly well, I find that the whole story becomes peppered with too many sports references to the point that it alienates me or it wasn’t sporty enough that I think aside from the cover, there wasn’t enough sports in it. Baseball wasn’t just a backdrop to Dylan and Maggie’s love story. It felt like another character. I could tell that Tara is a baseball fan by the way she wrote about the sport. I always enjoy couples that have a history and although you knew how they felt for each other, I still felt a good amount of tension while reading this, which felt nice because it’s hard to still be excited over something you know will end in HEA. Stealing Home is a great start to the Dallas Longhorns series. I am already looking forward to Hunter’s story and Javi, maybe? Great work, Tara. Note: I received an ARC provided by the author and this is my unbiased review.

both characters got annoying after a few chapters. Maggie trying to decide if she should have sex with Dylan after he broke her heart all those years ago, became friends with benefits even though she will catch feelings again and get hurt again. Dylan made rules for their arrangement but wants to win her back. couldn't finish the book

This is the first book in the series and it a really good well written second chance romance. This is Maggie and Dylan's book he is a pro baseball player who has just been traded back to his home town and he is not happy about. She is media relations director for his new team and she is also his first love who he left heartbroken when he dumped her. This was a really good book I enjoyed it and cannot wait for the next book in the series.
