This is an awesome first book to a series! Apparently, it is Tarah Benner’s first foray into the supernatural genre and it does not show! She does a fantastic job creating a world, and likeable characters in it. She weaves a story that is easy to read, with complex and unique characters, and an interesting storyline. Separate note: romance is very minor in this book, so if you want any steam, try a different book. The storyline is more family based than romance based. I plan to continue this series.

I really enjoyed reading this and can’t wait for the next book. Besides the exciting storyline, the two things that I enjoyed most about this book are: 1: the dialog between characters flows great and feels natural, not forced like some books are. 2: the ideas that are new and special to this world are explained clearly without detracting from the storyline. They’re woven into the story. This book reminds me of a fantasy version of a “cozy murder mystery” book. The fantasy makes it a much scarier version, and I loved it. Overall it’s very interesting and I look forward to more!

I love Tarah's apoc/ dystopian books and follow her on social media. I took a chance on Aether Witch because I like her writing style and the detail with which she writes the characters. I have to admit that I came into the book thinking that it might be too 'infantile' just because of the genre, but it was far from that and I have enjoyed the story: a fast paced murder mystery, with a magical twist into paranormal worlds. I look forward to Book 2.
