The House of Ramesses falters as Tausret relinquishes the throne upon the death of her husband, King Seti. Amenmesse's young son Siptah will become king until her infant son is old enough to rule. Tausret, as Regent, and the king's uncle, Chancellor Bay, hold tight to the reins of power and vie for complete control of the kingdoms. Tausret's troubles mount as she also faces a challenge from Setnakhte, an aging son of the Great Ramesses who believes Seti was the last legitimate king. If Setnakhte gets his way, he will destroy the House of Ramesses and set up his own dynasty of kings.

O autorovi

 Max Overton is a writer of historical novels with the award-winning Lion of Scythia trilogy as his first foray into writing. Born in Malaysia, he traveled extensively through Asia, Europe and North America before settling down in New Zealand. Later in life, he moved to Australia where he taught a variety of courses at James Cook University. From there, he moved to the United States for five years and then back to tropical Australia, where he continues to write in a rainforest setting with his wife Julie and three cats. Max is now in the final stages of a six-part historical series set in ancient Egypt (the Scarab books). He has also written paranormal adventure, paranormal historical and horror novels and he is starting to explore other genres.
