About this ebook

"Complete with hot sex scenes, snarky double-entendres, slapstick humor, and quirky girlfriends, this comedic romp through modern-day dating checks all the romance boxes." —Kirkus Reviews

Willa Frank has one simple rule: never go on a date with anyone more than twice. Now that her business is providing the stability she’s always needed, she can’t afford distractions. Her two-date rule will protect her just fine...until she meets smokejumper Grady Billman.

After one date—one amazing, unforgettable date—Grady isn’t ready to call it quits, despite his own no-attachments policy, and he’s found a sneaky way around both their rules.

Throwing gutter balls with pitchers of beer? Not a real date (bowling doesn’t count).
Watching a band play at a local show? Not a real date (shared music taste is a coincidence).
Hiking? Not a real date (exercise is definitely exempt).

Willa’s admittedly having fun playing along. But with each non-date, Willa risks losing her much-needed focus. Especially when finding the balance between “all work” and “no play” feels impossible without the perfect shade of Grady.

Each book in the Where There’s Smoke series is STANDALONE:
* The Two-Date Rule
* Just a Little Bet
* The Best Kept Secret

This book starts with a hilarious case of mistaken identity. I loved the first interaction between Willa and Grady. Willa and Grady's story is a lot of hilarious but with their backgrounds, also a lot of angst. No-strings should have been easy for two people who avoid commitment like it's s some kind of disease but of course that's not the way their story goes. This is an awesome start to this new series and I can't wait for the next one!!

I enjoyed this one a lot. It has a lot of humor that will make you laugh, but this book also has plenty of heart and feels. My heart broke for Willa. She hasn't had the greatest of childhoods and it has impacted the way Willa lives her life. Grady is yummy, but he as some soul searching to do as well.I loved Willa and Grady's first meeting.It is quite memorable and leads to many inside jokes between them. I loved Willa's pets. They were a favorite part for me. Willa and Grady bring a balance to each other which to me is one of the beautiful things about this book. Willa doesn't do relationships just her two date rule so it was enjoyable to watch these two with their non-dates. I loved Grady's family. It warmed my heart watching Willa interact with them. This is a book you don't want to miss. It's going to suck you right in and you'll look up to see time has just flown by.

Tawna Fenske starts her new Smokejumper series with The Two-date Rule, a fun and engaging read. That puts an interesting spin on the whole idea of short term dating, as you have two main characters who couldn't be more different as Willa is organised, and career focused and has a specific set of rules for dating and Grady is constantly on the move and determined never to settle down or look to the future. Yet after a first memorable encounter all that begins to change, and as the story unfolds the tenacious and sexy Grady, with the help of Willa's two friends Kayla and Aislin come up with plenty of fun reasons and loopholes to get around Willa's strict two-date rule, and what follows is a fast-paced, entertaining, sexy, yet at times serious story that I genuinely enjoyed reading. Would happily recommend. **I was kindly provided with an ARC via Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review**
