About the author

Georgeta Raţă holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University in Bucharest, Romania. She is a qualified EFL teacher and has been teaching languages for almost 34 years. Her extensive experience includes both general English and several areas of ESP, and she has published widely in these areas. She also has cross-linguistic expertise, having worked in French and Romanian as well as English, and understands the practical issues involved in teaching and learning different languages and transferring research ideas from one language to another. She is the Scientific Secretary of her Department, Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Linguistic Studies, a contributor to the English Profile research project, and regularly organises international events in the field of language education. She has edited Language Education Today: Between Theory and Practice (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2010).
