** Originally published in 2008, Tempt Me with Darkness has been expanded and re-edited. I’ve added over 15,000 new words and two completely new scenes, as well as embedded lots of Easter eggs. I’ve also rewritten everything in first person, present tense and made tweaks to the storytelling for a deeper, richer experience. As the series progresses, I’ll be diverging the overall plot in some notable spots, so this version of the series will be different.

Ratings and reviews

I've been wanting to read Mrs. Black's work for some time now so I'm happy I finally took the plunge. This book is the beginning of a new series, and after finishing, I am stoked to find out where we'll go next. I'm not a big fan of historical romance but if it's written during the time of Camelot, I'll be on board in a heartbeat. I loved that Marrok was one of Arthur's Knights and that Olivia is a descendant of Morgana Le Fey, along with all of the other exciting characters. They both had such bruised hearts and souls. It broke my heart when the pain & doubt crept through. The angst kept me on the edge of my seat and don't get me started on the twists and turns. The plot boiled down to the eternal fight of good verses evil with a setting that mixed today with centuries in the past. The world building was spot on and has me excited for the rest of the series. I highly recommend this read. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

I will most definitely be reading this series! Sweet, steamy, and a little spicy. Historical= sorta. Fantasy for sure. Mystery a bit. Fated mates from 1500 years apart. Some of the usual lack of communication that runs amuck in romance novels but not so much it was annoying. Big magic and fantasy drama with some modern day telling of King Arthur age magicians and warlocks. An early twenties witch who didn't know she was a witch fated mate to an Arthurian vanished knight cursed immortal. Introduction of several other characters I'm looking forward to seeing again. This is the 1st book in the Doomsday Brethren series featuring the wonderful tale of fated mates,curses,mystical adventures between Marrok&Olivia.Marrok has been cursed by Morganna to immortality& it's been over 1500yrs since he was forced to live in a world that he doesn't know& guard the Doomsday Diary he also can't reach any kind of sexual release because of the curse. When he meets Olivia he thinks that she's Morganna reincarnated or that she's using her witchcraft to alter her appearance so that she could entrap him again. After being cursed by her& living with the curse for so many years Marrok is so angry that he's not thinking rationally about this so he kidnaps Olivia. I don't want to say anymore& ruin it for anyone else with spoilers.You really need to read this wonderful tale of fated mates,curses,mystical adventures to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book& I'm looking forward to the next book in this wonderful series. I received a free copy of this book
