He escapes and meets Jim, a runaway slave, and together the two travel the Mississippi River on a raft, heading toward Jim's freedom. This unabridged version of Mark Twain's classic American tale—a follow-up to The Adventures of Tom Sawyer—is taken from the 1885 copyright edition and includes original illustrations by Edward W. Kemble.
