There are some interesting comments and stories about earlier mnemonic systems, but little in the way of anything new. The one exception is Fuller's use of correspondence and a manner of examining numbers which bears study. His "new" way of remembering numbers precedes the "historical date" section of the book. There is a LOT of interesting trivia in his writing. For example, I never knew that Democritus and Heroditus both lived for 103 years...also they where born and died on the same day!
