It was okay. I had typed out a long multi paragraph review of this book and the series as a whole only to have the app crash. So I'll summarize. It didn't make me feel. After reading The Night Angel I wanted more from Brent, hence me starting this series. But it didn't match the emotional response I got from the previous work. This story is DragonBall Z. The heroes win and no one of important stays dead. The bad guys are bad because reasons and they lose. God is real and kind of a dick.

This was an ok end of the series. Overall the book series was pretty good, but definitely not as great as it could have been. It started out very strong with the first 2 books being superb but then the next two books were very slow, went nowhere, and just boring. This book was a step up from those but a far cry from the first 2 books. It did a decent job wrapping up the story in a pretty fun way, but was also predictable and unoriginal. This is a series that some will love and others will hate. I see both sides since the story had so much potential and started so well but then it seemed like Brent was either rushed or lost interest. Also found typos in some of the books and just seemed like poor editing since the writing often seemed disjointed after book 2. I would find myself carefully rereading whole pages and still not really getting a picture of what's happening. That is due in part to Brent trying too hard to use big words unnecessarily and far too often at times.

Some mixed feelings about the ending, but I suspect that has more to do with my religious differences with (what I take to be) the author's views. Otherwise a great book. I like this series a lot. xD
