Can real life compare…

To the love in their letters?

When Emma first used a pseudonym to write to Captain George Weston on the front line, it was because she felt responsible for his broken engagement. Yet his letters became a light in the darkest hours, and she shared more of her desires than she ever dared before, never imagining they’d actually meet. Now that he’s home for Christmas, she longs to see him, but that means revealing who she really is…

Captain George has returned home from being in the army. This story is in a time things were simple and frustrating because of the innocence that we've lost as time goes on. Scenes, details that are of that era are kept in purity. This is romance is full of mistakes and trying to correct what was supposedly wrong and the true belief of angels that are loved ones looking out for the best interest of the situation. A good read. While fighting in WWI, George fell for the woman from his hometown who started a correspondence with him. Unknown to him, she was using a pseudonym—she's really the cousin of his ex-fiancée. When he returns home, what happens after her true identity comes to light? This is a heartwarming and satisfying holiday romance. The characters are complex and the story original. Despite the deception, Emma is sweet and giving. She and George are perfect for each other. Thanks, Booksprout, for the ARC.

The holidays always add an unexpected twist. Wonderful characters to follow on this journey that has a few twists and turns and a little bit of drama as well. Fun to read through how they each work through the issues that they have. And are they willing to accept what is happening. The road to love is sometimes bumpy. Good read.
