What a journey. First time read, this took me 1 year and 1 month to read, start to finish. I enjoyed it, but its a lot. A LOT. Will I read it again? Absolutely, but not for a few more years at least. XD The characters are written so well that they actually get under the reader's skin, grating or heartwarming, they stick with you and feel like fully devolved people with vastly different personalities by the end of the series. The same goes for the world building, painting a vivid image of a changing, living and dying world. All around an excellent and exhausting series. Would absolutely recommended to any readers who want a series that feels real and vibrant, that they'll also be reading for quiet a while. (something to really sink your teeth into, per-se.) -Beware the slog, about mid-series, where groundwork is being laid out for the build-up to the finale, it's a real thing, - but if you can get through it, it's very much worth it. 10/10

took me a year and a half reading off and on through various deployments and missions. this series has brought me to tears. I am elated to have finished this saga, and yet depressed to see it over with. I wish I could read it fresh again, having never yet experienced it, but I know I will not. In time, when I've forgotten the many twists, I most definitely will read it again.

Okay books with an interesting storyline (always to be likened to Tolkien) but marred by underdeveloped characters exhibiting cliche behavior and repetition. Women constantly blush, giggle, straighten their dresses, and fawn over men. Men find women incomprehensible. The hero wants to be a shepherd and that's as deep as his mental struggle goes. When Jordan wants to convey an idea - the Aes Sedai manipulate people, say - he simply repeats it again and again. Books 5 through 8 are particularly intolerable.
