About this eBook

Stand Against the Darkness

One small town, six deaths—all females, all from the same small Baptist church. Not just any kind of deaths, either. The despairing kind that ends it all—on one's own terms.

There is no rhyme or reason for the perfectly normal teenage girls and women ending it all—engulfing the town in frightening questions that beg for clarifying answers they aren't sure they're ready to discover.

Rising to the challenge to solve this inexplicable case is Group X. The Church's investigative agents, Elijah Fox and Gina Anderson, race to Mill Creek Junction to investigate this cluster of self-death that threatens to bloom into a monstrous contagion and consume a reeling community.

In a case ripped from the headlines that speaks prophetically to our age, Group X must solve this unfathomable mystery menacing one small town and confront a haunting, fearsome darkness from consuming more innocent lives.

Dark, gritty supernatural suspense at its finest, fans of Frank Peretti and Dean Koontz will devour this briskly paced, heart-pounding puzzle mystery that will leave you breathless—a haunting tale highlighting the fantastical side to life waged by the dark, powerful forces of the Unseen Realm.

About the author

J. A. Bouma believes nobody should have to read bad religious fiction—whether it's cheesy plots with pat answers or misrepresentations of the Christian faith and the Bible. So he wants to do something about it by telling compelling, propulsive stories that thrill as much as inspire, while offering a dose of insight along the way.

When not putting fingers to keyboard, he loves vintage jazz vinyl, a glass of Malbec, and an epic read — preferably together. He lives in Grand Rapids with his wife, two kiddos, and rambunctious boxer-pug-terrier.
