Ellie Locke & a deliciously sexy half-demon have one thing in common… they both have one thing to live. When death comes for them, they accept a deal in order to cheat death. Smoke, shadows, a hostile demon day from the beyond and highly paid assassins sent by loving parents makes things for a little complicated for the new partners. This new series starts off with a fast paced and energetic read that introduces a promising new world. The characters are strong, vivid and easily grab readers’ attention although the relationship between the hero and heroine is just getting started so there’s not a lot of romance but the chemistry between them sizzles with lots of heat. The story starts off with an adrenaline pumping event and just keeps going with non-stop action and fun that causes quite a bit of hanging on the edge of your seat thrills and quite a bit of laughter. Although on the short side, the story is quirky and fun but mixed with lots of danger and suspense, coming together to form an enjoyable, entertaining and refreshingly different read with some unique story elements.

S.A. Bayne blasts through expectations which A Demon You Trust! The beginning of an epic new series, the suspense, romance and supernatural-ness-ness-ness (not a word, but totally should be) with Ellie and Jack as the heroes. Super unlikely, you are rooting for them from the very beginning! Ellie is devoted to her sister to the point where she takes a chance to cheat death to save her. Jack, the hunky demon, has a totally adorable daughter and is a single parent after his wife's death. The serious situations are balanced with the warm-glowey feeling of the romance and humour. An unlikely pair, they stabilise each other in a completely natural and loving way. While the hilarity of the writing that S.A. Bayne weaves into the outrageous situations, we are given an insight into how damaged Ellie and Jack are from all they've had to go through. But we're left fist-pumping the air with joy because the HEA. IS. EVERYTHING. Loved the idea of a magical crime fighting organisation, the start to a fabulous new series - our beloved Stephanie Rowe has come back in a wave of epic unicorns and magic and hot men and cool assassins and dragons!!!!!! Must read :) *Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

(SORT OF SPOILERS INCLUDED! NOT FULL STORY GIVEAWAYS, BUT SOME OF THE STORY...) S.A.Bayne, or better known as Stephanie Rowe, has been one busy lady. And here, in a book that took her over 10 years to write because so many other things came first, she has finally released the tale that rattled around in her head for so long. And what a tale it is turning out to be! Meet Ellie and Jack, two of the most unlikely heroes you could ever imagine. One a girl with no magic on a quest to find her missing sister, Esme, the other a half man half demon who lost his wife but has a daughter he needs desperately to keep safe while he battles that demon side of himself. Together the maybe add up to half a hero. Yet together they are the best they're going to get. A, well, for lack of a better word, "being" named Tomas, comes along and offers them the chance to be superheroes and save the world from a twisted conman with evil magic, determined to destroy anyone and anything that had a hand in killing his family. Against their combined better judgment, they accept. To help Ellie along, Tomas lets her find her own magical weapon, which he says will be the only one in the armory to accept her. This wonderful weapon that Ellie is so sure will turn the tide of her "no magic" makeup, turns out to be...sandpaper. Sandpaper? LOL really? That type of humor is prevalent throughout the whole book. Stephanie has this hysterical ability to turn desperate times into laughable moments. As she progresses through her various comedic novels, she's getting more and more of the hang of cracking me up while still keeping me interested in the seriousness of the storyline. This is a talent that is hard to come by. Even someone as talented as Stephanie obviously is (she has more than 30 books out there folks!), has had to struggle a little bit to get the comedy just right. But, here, in The Demon You Trust she got it exactly right! I found myself giggling throughout the book! But, is it all comedy? Nope! In a couple extra bonus scenes included in the purchased book, she takes it to a more serious level. In the first one we see how damaged Ellie really is over having her parents attempt to kill her, then her sister, at a tender age. Damaged enough that when Jack offers it, she can't bring herself to accept a real relationship. The best she can do is accept a partnership. She also shows how much Jack needs a stabilizing force in his life that he's finding in Ellie, who is the only one who can keep him from turning full demon. In the second one we get our first glimpse of someone else who is going to be very important in the future. It's a teaser for sure. Which I hate/love! Now I have to sit on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one! This first book in the new Magical Elite series is a phenomenal start! So much fun, so much drama! And the teaser bonuses? What a great little add-in that she's going to be including in everything going forward! Extra work for her, yeah, but extra storyline for us! Ok, so she has to work harder. Yeah, I feel for her, but still, YAY! LOL!! I love what you've done here, S.A. Bayne (our beloved Stephanie Rowe!)! So Very Very Well Done! Can't wait for the next one! I received this book through the ARC team, and am giving this review in my own words and of my own volition. Everything here is in my humble opinion!
