When a roamer trades them an ancient book with only a few pages remaining, Lina and Doon return to Ember to seek the machine the book seems to describe in hopes that it will get their new community, Sparks, through the winter. there's not much to say about this book it was fabulous just like the rest of the series you just have to read it!

I love this series way to much and now it's over :(. Now there has to be a spin off series about lina's kids in modern day San Fran as well as the aliens making contact again, but I'm rambling. Really though, this is a great book to a fantastic series and everyone should read it.

I would suggest this book for older people for example maybe 10-anything because I tried reading this book in 3rd grade and I was in the the book 3 pages and got bored of it but now I love it and hope every body who reads it loves it too and if you don't too bad!
