This book had me in tears!! Great story line, amazing way for the author to shed light on how so many kids are living homeless and on the bare, cold streets of Russia. Truly amazing!

Based on a true story this tale grabs the reader by the heartstrings as you follow the life of a little boy snatched from his home and set out on the streets of Moscow. He finds love and acceptance from a pack of feral dogs. Together they fight to survive through incredible dangers as well as the ferocious Russian winter. He is snatched away from his loved ones again and put in an orphanage. There he meets a special teacher who helps him return to humanity by teaching him the drawing his story.

I read this book when i was in 9th grade and i still love even today, it has a magnificent story and amazing characters, definitely would recommend it to someone looking for an awesome book

Bobbie Pyron is the author of The Dogs of Winter, which received three starred reviews and was named a Kirkus Reviews Best Children's Book of the Year. She grew up in Florida, now lives in Park City, Utah, and works as a librarian in Salt Lake City.
