About this eBook

From the 2013 Orange Prize–winning author of May We Be Forgiven.

Only a work of such searing, meticulously controlled brilliance could provoke such a wide range of visceral responses. Here is the incredible story of an imprisoned pedophile who is drawn into an erotically charged correspondence with a nineteen-year-old suburban coed. As the two reveal—and revel in—their obsessive desires, Homes creates in The End of Alice a novel that is part romance, part horror story, at once unnerving and seductive.

I admit, this book is so fucked up its scary. But hey, it's some REALLY good writing. There were times I even felt like a bit of a pervert while reading it which is ridiculous. But that goes to show what an amazing author this is. If you can take it read it but keep an open mind, this is not for the weak minded people out there.

After the hype of this book, I was expecting it to be find a darker and twisted way of writing. While that isn't the case, the writer had a very effective way of getting her point across. Worth the read. Although, it isn't "deeply disturbing" like everyone seems to say but more along the lines of a well written typical news headline.
