“She’s my girlfriend,” Dylan explained.
Andrew laughed derisively. “Since when do you have girlfriends?”
“Since you were stupid enough to lose Celeste,” Dylan told him.
Andrew glared at him. “I can’t believe that you would sink this low,” he said to Celeste.
“Excuse us. We have to get to class.” Dylan maneuvered Celeste past Andrew. He waited until they were further down the hallway before he spoke again. “Are you okay?”
Her lips twisted into a painful parody of a smile. “Fine.”
He leaned over to speak into her ear. “The next time your fingers dig into me that hard, you won’t be thinking about him.”
