Her parents operated a Canadian-Chinese restaurant for many years, and her memories of working in the family business are the basis for many stories, including The Fragrant Garden. Lee is a freelance writer with feature articles appearing in national magazines such as New Canadian, The Beaver, and Canadian Living.
