About the author

Dr James W. Byng is Director of Plant Gateway Ltd. and an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Aberdeen. He completed his PhD at the University of Aberdeen and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and previously completed the MSc in Biodiversity and Taxonomy of Plants at the University of Edinburgh and Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh. His research is mainly focused on the systematics of Syzygium (Myrtaceae) and the biogeography and floristics of Old World plants.
