after watching the Netflix series I had high hopes, but alas. much time was spent building to a crescendo that didn't arrive in my opinion and the ending was lacking.

I've been reading and watching scary stories for over 40 years. I consider this the horror tale by which all others are measured. No slash, no spatter, just suspense that will keep you scared of the dark long after you've finished.

so just so we are clear, the show though I love it, however Shirley Jackson wrote this book decades ago, what really is accurate is the show is not like the book. I mean the siblings names are Nellie luke and the authors name is Shirley? how do you think the the show runners for those names lol 🤣
