An eminent physician by profession, Dr. Sanjay Ghosh is one of the leading avant-garde poets of our time. He has been writing poems since his early teens. Noted filmmaker and Poet Buddhadeb Dasgupta has found Ghosh as one of the most original voices in early 21st century Bengali poetry. Dr. Ghosh has four volumes of published poetry to his credit, including The Rootless (Udbastu), Songs of Tagore So Combustible! (Rabindranather Gaan Besh Dahya!), The Birth like a Bird (Pakhijanmo), and The Tiger and the Mouth Organ (Bagh o Mouth Organ).
