Honestly, I think I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't seen the movie first. The idea is very good, but the execution lacks primarily because of the first person narrative. However likeable Katniss is, staying with her story line limits the dramatic potential, particularly during the third act. This I'd a problem the movie doesn't have. All this said still a good read for teens.

I really enjoyed this book, quite dark but exciting and I admit a did shed a tear or two. I ended up reading the trilogy and it does make you think about a lot of things we take for granted. Haven't decided if I want to watch the movie or if I want to keep it the way it is in my head!

Although the writing style and characters of this story were clearly written for a younger audience, the ideas and message behind the book can be appreciated by people of all ages. Thoroughly enjoyed experiencing Katiess's Journey.
