This pocket-sized paperback is one of the twenty-two titles published for 2015 Hong Kong International Poetry Nights. The theme of IPHHK2015 is "Poetry and Conflict". 21 international poets from 18 different places are invited to participate in recitations, symposia and sharing sessions of the Poetry Nights. A recitation focusing on 10 local Hong Kong poets, "Hong Kong Cantonese Poetry Night" is included. This collection seeks to make accessible the best of contemporary international poetry with outstanding translations.

Chen Li is regarded as one of the most innovative and exciting poets writing in Chinese today. With his wife Chang Fen-ling, he has translated over twenty volumes of poetry into Chinese, including the works of Sylvia Plath, Seamus Heaney, Pablo Neruda, and Tomas Transtr?mer. The recipient of many awards, such as the National Award for Literature and Arts and the Taiwan Literature Award, he was listed as one of the “Top Ten Contemporary Poets of Taiwan” in 2005. In 2012, he represented Taiwan at Poetry Parnassus, the Olympic Poetry Festival held in London. In 2014, he was invited to participate in the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa. 陳黎 ，原名陳膺文 ，1954 年生 ，臺灣花蓮人 ，臺灣師範大學英語系畢業 。被視為 「當今中文詩界最能創新且令人驚喜的詩人之一」 ，著有十四本詩 集 ，且是多產的散文作者和譯者 。與妻子張芬齡合譯有二十餘種詩集 ，包括普拉絲 、奚尼 、聶魯達 、帕斯 、辛波絲卡 、特朗斯特羅默及與謝野晶子 等人的作品 。曾獲國家文藝獎 、臺灣文學獎等諸多獎項 ，是一年一度在花蓮舉行的 「太平洋詩歌節」策劃人 。2005 年獲選 「臺灣當代十大詩人」。 2012 年獲邀代表臺灣參加倫敦奧林匹克詩歌節。 2014 年受邀參加美國愛荷華大學「國際寫作計劃」。
