What he fi nds changes everything he believes, trusts and puts his faith in: his loyalty to family and the law. Sexual passion, exhibited in his love for Sylvia Morgan, becomes his goal and the source of his conflict. In all of this, the life and ideas of Soren Kierkegaard come into play.
