Very enjoyable book to read. Imagery was delicious, characters believable, there had obviously been lots of research done on the time. Only critique would be that the outcome of the mystery was not quite as mysterious as perhaps the author intended..fairly easy to figure out what was going to happen. that being said, I would definitely recommend this book.

I have to say how much I truly enjoy reading Ms. Morton's books. I've been through 3 of them now. I can't wait to get back to it whenever I put it down. So easy to get lost in such romantic periods of time, in characters that I can actually see and hear. Thank you.

Finally a mystery book that isn't obvious from the start, but doesn't reach to the point of incredulity for any of the twists. Everything flowed naturally and I loved every tendril of a story I ended up going down.
