I watched the Netflix series first. I had also played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt before that. It was great to understand some of the backstory. So many things make more sense now. I can't wait to read the next book. The only issue I had with it was the jumping back and forth in the timelines. It made it a little trickier to follow at first, but eventually worked out well.

The Last Wish is a collection of short stories sometimes dark twists on familiar Grimm tales, but featuring a protagonist that's very much a blunt instrument. Geralt the witcher is almost akin to James Bond, as he is a deliberately dull person thrown in extraordinary situations. The stories themselves are very well thought out and have surprising emotional depth. It also provides the foundation to the witcher arc, and is a must read for any fantasy fan and any who played the games.

The Author has been going after the company that made his stories into highly successful video games that in turn sold more book as well for a long long time after he agreed to a deal, then later only after the game did better than he expected wanted more like the elitist you-know-what that he is. The stories themselves are fine, the lore in all forms is pretty good stuff but the person who created it is a dispicable scumbag that i'd never support with my hard earned money.
