About this eBook

THE LIBERTINE. St Andrews, Scotland: 1715. Her secret lover could save her from ruin, or guide her swiftly to it…

Lennox Taskill is a rogue, a seducer and rumored to be a witch. Lennox has seen his kind scorned and persecuted, and hunts endlessly for his sisters, Jessie and Maisie, who he wishes to protect. His only other loyalty is to his closest people, who he wants to take north to safety in the highlands of Scotland, as soon as he reunites with his sisters.

Lennox’s disdain for humanity is sealed by the searing memory of his mother burning at the stake. So when the wife of a wealthy local landlord comes seeking his help, the beguiling Chloris Keavey presents Lennox with his greatest opportunity for distraction…and revenge. Little does he know she will engage him in ways he had never considered, heart, body and soul.

Chloris is in danger of being turned out by her cruel and heartless husband because she hasn't provided him an heir. She vows to find a way through witchcraft, but soon surrenders to Lennox’s seductive magic in more ways than one. Her desire for Lennox overwhelms her, and her fragile heart is at risk. But with a witch hunt brewing, Lennox and Chloris are soon risking everything for their forbidden nights of ecstasy…and to protect the secret that could cost them their lives.

"Walker follows The Harlot with the engrossing tale …When Chloris, the cousin of Lennox's archenemy, hears a servant mention that Lennox’s magic might be able to repair her barrenness, she heads to his home to beg for his help. What she doesn’t expect is to fall in love. Walker deftly spins a captivating tale that will have readers holding their collective breath until the last page is turned." Publisher's Weekly.

Nowadays most people have heard of the word 'libertine' but don't really know what it means. It was considered a person indulging in a variety of amorous impulses, AKA manwhore. That is exactly what this story is about. The author always does a good job of mixing erotica with a story. In an age when witches are burned, this story continues along the series arc that follows the Taskill siblings as the strive to return to one another after years apart. Each has been fighting to keep their witchy powers hidden to prevent them from being next on the pyre, but fate intervenes. In this story, you still get the twist and turns, the excitement and passionate scenes that you get with the other two books but I just didn't get the same connection as I didn't with the other books. Maybe it was his 'indulging ways' with the ladies that just left a bad taste in my mouth no matter what. Don't know. Not my personal favorite book in serious I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am v

The 2nd book is just as good first-rate all the way. This is Lennox Taskill’s story like his sisters he also has magic in his blood. Revenge for his mother's brutal death is the one thing that drives him and there may be a way to strike back if only in a small way meeting Chloris Keavey maybe just what he wanted. This fantasy was just as good as first book it was full of passion it is a very adult book, but it was so well written. The ending is dramatic and kept me on the edge of my seat it was a glorious ending. I did receive a free copy of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.
