About this eBook

In his daring and chilling first novel, #1 New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor draws us into a sinister labyrinth of political intrigue and international terrorism, serving up an explosive cocktail of unrelenting action as one man is pushed to the edge.

On the snow-covered slopes of Utah, the President of the United States has been kidnapped and his Secret Service detail massacred. Only one agent has survived—ex-Navy SEAL Scot Harvath. He doesn’t buy the official line that Middle Eastern terrorists are behind the attack and begins his own campaign to find the truth and exact revenge. But now, framed for murder by a sinister cabal, Harvath takes his fight to the towering mountains of Switzerland—and joins forces with beautiful Claudia Mueller of the Swiss Federal Attorney’s Office. Together they must brave the subzero temperatures and sheer heights of treacherous Mount Pilatus—where their only chance for survival lies inside the den of the most lethal team of professional killers the world has ever known…

Each turn of the page is like watching a trainwreck getting progressively worse when you thought it had previously hit rock bottom. It starts with a protagonist that has plot armor thicker than a Kardashian butt. All trained assassins who are sent after him somehow end up with the accuracy of a blind person with a server Parkinson's. There's dumb one liners throughout action scenes that get progressively more cringe as the book progresses (and some are even downright racist)

a very exciting and thrilling novel except too much interruption for comment and we have to start over from the beginning which is time wasted and made us lost our imagination of the story!

Overall I liked this book. The main character reminds me of Jack Reacher in actions, not so much physical description, and the story is plausible although probably not all too realistic. Brad Thor can go to incredible detail at times; not Robert Jordan level, though; and it sometimes drags the story along. For example; digging out of the avalanche. The main character took an incredible beating during the short time span covered by the book; considering the premise, though, this was necessary.
