Ok, so the first volume was underwhelming, making this one a marked improvement. While still not some grand epic, the story finally added some important worldbuilding. It leaves off in the middle of a drawn-out conflict, but it's still overall good. The fact that i want to read the next volume immediately is enough for me to continue with the series, but if you still don't enjoy the series by the end of this volume, i suspect you probably won't enjoy the rest of the story either.

This book was better than the first 2 books which I despised and regret buying... But it was still pretty bad. In particular the ridiculous conversations not only in combat but even a 4 page conversation with a mortally wounded enemy! Seriously!? Dudes got a sword stuck in his heart but let's have a long talk! Why not?!? It really hurt the story.
